Mr. Lloyd-George, speaking on the second reading of the Financial Biil. intimated that he strongly favoured the appointment of a departmental committee consisting of business men and some M's.P. to enquire into the existing system of the. Income-tax assessment with the view of removing anomalies.
The ‘‘Westminster Gazette ” agrees with several speakers to rhe Bill that it is high time to revise and simplify the assessment, inasmuch as some pay too much, others too little.
