TAKAPAU STOCK SALE. The opening sale ar rhe Takapau yards took place yesterday. There was a representative attendance of buyers and a large entry of sheep. Only a few cattle came forward. BURNSIDE STOCK SALE. Dunedin. March 12. There was a large yarding of fat cattle at Burnside to-day, 183 being penned. Competition was fairly keen, but prices were 10 - per head lower than those ruling last wook. Best bullocks £l3 5 - to £l4, good £lO 10'to £l2, medium £8 to £9, best cows and heifers £lO to £ll 10/-, good £8 t<; £9/s'-. medium £6 15 '- to £7 10 -. There was a good-sized yarding of fat sheep, 2076 being penned. The entry included a good proportion of good quality sheep. Freezing buyers had their limits reduced, and consequently competition was almost entirely confined to butchers. Prices were about 1 - lower than last week’s rates.
