The Admiralty decided not to accept in special eases the permanent transfer of active service ratings to the Australian navy, but cannot approve of ratings being lent.

AUSTRALIA’S SUCCESSFUL
TRIALS

It js officially stated that the battle cruiser Australia’s 8-hour trial was a complete success.
OTAGO CADETS
GENERAL GODLEY SATISFIED
Dunedin, March 13.
General Godley is delighted with the results of his tour of inspection of the Senior Cadet camps throughout Otago. He comments favourably on the willingness and smartness of the boys of the Kaitangata corps. He says they are the smartest boys he would wish to see. The department has ordered 20,000 LeeEnfields for the cadets, which are expected to arrive soon.
