NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS. Wellington, July 15. The New Zealand amateur boxing championships commencc-d tonight. Owing to a pouring ram the attendance fell considerably below expectations. Among these present were Sir Joseph Ward. General Godlf'v. and Drs. Izard -mil O’Brien. The referee was Mr. T. Sampson, the other officials bring Messrs. 11. Sharplin and R. Cooke (judges). A. Laurenson and L. W . Ludwig (timekeepers), Drs. G’lmer. Herbert. Tolhurst. and Harding (medical officers). The matches proved very interesting. some of the bouts being very evenly contested. The results to 11.15 p.m. were as follows:--
