ST. HELEN’S HOME.
•AUCKLAND WORKERS’ GRIEVANCES. Auckland, July 15. Mr. J. H. Braduey. M.P., was present at a largely-attended meeting of the Auckland Waterside Workers’ Union this morning to discuss the system of administration prevailing in connection with the St. Helen s Home. Mr. J. Collett presided. Mrs. Emily Nicol was called upon to generally state the case for the union and instanced several cases where admittance of confinement cases was refused. Mr. Bradney said that if Mrs. Nicol would supply him with particulars he would at once wire the Minister in charge of hospitals and bring the whole matter before Paiiiament. , „ I The matron of St. Helen s Home, informed of iho outcome of this morning’s meeting, said that it has been found necessary to make it a rule that nurses shall not go out beyond the penny tram section, and in that radius and in the institution itself thev found that they had really more mork than they could do.
