Wellington, May 2-1
An abundance of feed and water has prolonged the dairying season this year and good cheques aic still coming to dairymen for their milk, but there arc indications all round this district that the season is drawing to a close and farmers arc stcadily drying off their heras. AA erk on the farm is a bit slack as usual at this time of the year, and our public spirited men off the land arc not at all disturbed in being called to conferences just now when they are not busy. Agriculturalists, pastoralists, and dairymen all report having had n good year in growing, selling and buying, 'and even the burns in the back c-'unfry have been declared satisfnctorc with the grass coming away fine” after the burn.
