THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCES"SES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR C’Y( LES. WELLINGTON TO NAPIER IN 6 HOURS 38' MINUTES. At the H.B. Motor Cyclo Club’s sports, held on the blastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines, representing five different makes, the Triumphs secured 10 firsts. 7 seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is considered that the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines ot equal power, and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, Dec. 30th. Air. J. L. Brathwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt on the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier record—viz., 8 hours 35 minutes, established by Air. H. L. Schaeffer on New Y”ear's Day, 1909, also on. a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Air. Brathwaite left the Wellington Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6 hours 38 minutes, lowering the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines, made from the finest material procurable, that can average 33.] miles an hour over 230 miles of New Zealand roads. Those who were at tlie Napier Post Office at the finish could not help hut remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is not only made for speed. It has proi - ed itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is peifectl? adapted to New Zealand roads. AY e can deliver both fixed and free engine models from stock, and would be pleased to give trial runs to intending purchasers at all times. —Tourist Motor Co., Ltd., sole agents for Triumph and' B.S.A. motor cycles, YVairarapa, Hawkes Bu.'. and Poveitx Las.’
