ACCIDENT AT NIAGARA.
WOMAN AND LAD DROWNED. (Received 6. 12 noon.) Ottawa. Feb. 5. Niagara Falls ice bridge broke owing to the mild weather. Mrs. Stanton, of Toronto, and a lad aged seventeen, were carried down stream and drowned. Four others escaped to the shore in the niek of time. Had the accident happened later hundreds would have been imperilled as a crowd was arriving for the purpose of venturing out on the ice bridge.
