Tin* Union Company's Monowai arriv ed this morning from XVeilington am South, and leaves again at 8.30 p.m I for Gisborne and Auckland. The Union Company’s Taviuni is ex ported from Lyttelton to-morrow. The Rnni arrived on Sunday niglr from Gisborne, and the Kahu is ex pected to-morrow morning. The Fanny returned from XVhanga wehi yesterday with a load of wool t< he transhipped to the Anglo-Mexican and leaves to-night for Tokomaru Bay The Union Company’s Kini arrirec vesterday from XX’estport with a ful load of coal for this port. The Ripple leaves Wellington to-nighi for Napier, and will leave again foi Gisborne on Thursday. The Tyser liner Muritai returned yes terday morning from Wellington foi Homeward loading. Messrs. Williams and Kettle are her local agents. The Union Company’s Wanaka is expected to load at Bluff on the 12th instant, Oamaru 14th, and Tiniaru 15tl instant, for Napier, Gisborne, anc Auckland. The Huddart. Parker Company’s XX'immera arrives on Thursday morning from Gisborne and Auckland, and sails at 2 p.m. for XA’ellington and South. The Zealandic* leaves to-morrow nighi for Auckland. Messrs. Dalgety anc Co., Ltd., are her local agents. The Weka leaves for Waikokopu tonight. OVERDUE STEAMER. THE HORMELEN’S PLIGHT. Auckland, Feb. 6. The captain of the* Horinelon reports that he left Oregon on January 28th. On January 29th the barometer began :o fall, and next day a heavy gale* aas | encountered. which increased to a hurI ricane at noon. The foremast went out i ward with the rigging, and the whole oi I the d *ek cargo in the fore part of the [ship was washed away. At two o'clock 1 the gale was at it-- height. The aft»*ri mast broke short off. taking the rigging i with it, and the balance of the deck cargo. iiIMJ.OOO to -100.000 fejt of timber. This being w ashed an ay. the steering g»ar jambed. and the engines stopped for a time, but the gale abated on the morning of the 31st, and repairs were effected.
