London, Nov. 9.

The Australasian footballers defeated England by 19 (joints to 10. Five thousand persons wore present at the match. The ground was very slippery. Francis promptly retaliated with ■1 brilliant try which he failed to convert.

Thomas seemed a goal from a free kick, and then Francis scored again, but no goal was kicked.

Hence onwards the visitors bad all the best of the play. Farnsworth, Cann and Hallett scoring in rapid succession, from which two goals were kicked by Francis and Cann. In the second half England tackled desperately and prevented their opponents increasing the score, while for them Davis obtained a trv.

England subsequently missed several, good chances through faultypassing.
