ENTERTAINMENTS.

BUFFALO BILL AND WILD i WEST SHOW. As the advertisement runs, “Macmahon Bros.’ pictures are the people’s university.” This is an apt statement, and cannot be cavilled at, as there is no better educator than the modern motion picture. Hastings people apparently like the pictures, and the attendances are a proof of this. The man who wants to see the sights of the world can do it by this means without leaving his native town, and there is no doubt whatever that patrons of the pictures have a far better idea than others of the habits, customs, buildings, and occupations of the inhabitants of the various countries depicted by this wonderful machine. A shillingsworth of a biograph is a profitable investment. It educates, it entertains, and it amuses, and it makes one wonder what science will produce next. The very latest is the “ Buffalo Bill ” series of pictures to be screened at the Princess Theatre (Hastings) on Thursday night. They were taken at Earl’s Court, London, and embody not only the wonderfully exciting scenes associated with the many hair-breadth escapes of the famous “ Buffalo Bill,” but also show the principal star attractions of what was universally aci knowledged as “ the largest, greati est, and most original circus in the [world.”
