The death is announced of Baron Albert Rothschild at Vienna. Mr. E. J. Watt left Hastings for Masterton this morning. Misses May Knight and L. Cowan left for Masterton this morning to spend a holiday. Miss McKay, of Masterton, who has been visiting friends in Hastings, returned home by this morning’s train. Mr. A. Ellingham left Hastings this morning for Auckland, via the Main Trunk line. Mr. Frank Moeller has been elected a life governor of the Wellington Commercial Travellers’ Cabled from Berlin that the Kaiser has recovered from his three days’ attack of influenza accompanied by fever. Mr. W. Lane left Hastings this morning to attend the North Islam Band Contest, which commences to-day at Palmerston North. Rev. Father Goggan left Napier this morning for Wellington, where he takes charge of the Boulcott street parish.
