REAL GALLANTRY.
A certain newspaper recently invited its readers to state in a few words what they considered the most beautiful thing in the work!. The first prize was awarded to the sender of the answer, “The eyes of my mother.” “The dream of that which we know to ba impossible,” suggested nn imaginative l>crson, and this brought him second prize. , But the meet amusing answer was that which read: “The most beautiful thing in the world is to see a man carrying his mother-in-law across a dangerous river without making any attempt to drop her in.”
