He was convicted and! ordered to pay the medical ex-i penses incurred. ; Christchurch, Dec. 31. | Lawrence Dexter, who was brought into the hospital from: Kaipoi on Thursday night, suffering from the effects of poison, was: charged with attempted suicide this morning, and remanded for observation. j MILITARY COLLEGE. NEAV ZEALAND CANDIDATES. AVellington. Dec. 31. A good deal of interest is beingtaken in the forthcoming examination for admission to the Australian Military College.
