LONDON. 9th December. The Wool Sales closed with increasing weakness. The quotations Bhow a decline, as compared with the September rates, of •jl,to -/3. Faulty wools showed the heaviest fall. Sound fleeces were scarce, and were comparatively firm. The new clip for Great Britain commanded better prices; 22,000 bales were bought for exportation ; 10,000 bales old stock were offered, but 8000 were withdrawn. The Produce Telegram of the New Zealaud Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, dated London, December Bth, says—Wool.—The sales closed flatly. Nearly all descriptions declined from -|l-J- to -|2. The sales comprised about 85,000 bales; 22,000 were taken for export, and 4000 were withdrawn. During a part of the sales a good many second-hand parcels were offered. The prospects of the next sales are not so good. Tallow—The public sales of Australian comprised 4000 casks. Mutton, 44/ ; beef, 43/. Leather—Best sides fetched -/J advance ; other qualities remain unchanged. Wheat—Market quiet. MELBOURNE. 12th December. Breadstuffs remain inactive; prices unaltered. Oats decidedly firm, and more inquiry. Sales made up to 5/3. Very large transactions made within the last few days in candles, over 40,000 boxes having changed hands. Teas and sugars arc still in guod demand. DUNEDIN. 19 th December. Produce. —Brown aud Sons report oats altogether scarce, and not much inquired for, owing to the prices for feed and milling ruling so high of late, quotations being 5/6 to 5/9 ; wheat is steady at 5/ to 5/6 ; fowl feed is inquired for, but there is little or ■none offering ; bailey, for feed, 4/3 to 4/6 ; malting barley, 4/9 to 5/3 ; milling flour, £l3 to £l3 10/. There is a good town and exnort trade.
