Tho 8.8. Rangatira, Capt. Renner, left Wellington for this port at 12.15 p.m. today. Up to the time of our going to press this afternoon, there was up appearance of the s.s. Lord Ashley, from the North. Doubtless, she has had to seek shelter owing to heavy southerly weather. The schooner Colonist leaves for Tauranga Jo-morrow. The schooner Safucy Lass will sail for LytHelton in a day or two. The brig Zmgara, Captain Ockenden, arrived in port this afternoon from Dunedin, ■with a cargo consisting chiefly of sugar, consigned to Messrs. Turnbull, Reeves & Co. She is advertised to s>«it from this port on Saturday next for Napier, where she will, load wool for England.— Evening Post, ]}ec. 22. We learn that Captain Allen, late of the [Ballarafr, has taken command of a new iron screw steamer, the Selina, intended to trade between London and Calcutta.
