THE COMMITTEE, in soliciting the corporation of their fellow-settlers, direct their attention to the following : Applications for space will continue to be received by the Chairman or any of the Committee, if in time to reach Dunedin by the Ist October; but the New Zealand Exhibition Commissioners are desirous of ascertaining at the earliest, possible date the approximate amount of space required by each Province. Mr. Begg authorizes the Committee to state that he will give storage free for goods and specimens sent to his care by intending exhibitors. Should the interest shown by the inhabitants of Hawke’s Bay ■warrant such a course, the Superintendent has promised to ask from the Council a grant of public monies to aid the Committee in affording facilities to exhibitors. All articles, except those of great size and weight will be received in Dunedin until 12th December, 1864. The Exhibition will be opened on the first Tuesday in January, 1865. The Chairman or some of the Committee will attend every Monday from 12 to 1, when all the information furnished by the New Zealand fixation Commissioners may be obtained. The following list comprises articles suitable for exhibition ; for paper making. Oils, Fats and Wax, and their products. Wool, washed and unwashed, dyed and manufactured into cloth. Wheat, Maize, Oats, Barley, Malt, Peas, Beans &c. (samples not to exceed one imperial peck.) Flour, Oatmeal, Biscuits. Cheese, Bacon, Hams, Butter. Agricultural and Horticultural Implements., Woods of construction —Specimens should in all cases be converted into plank or scantling of such a size as to show its mercantile value. Longitudinal and transverse sections should be cut, if possible, 4 in. thick, and cut so as to show the “ sap” and ‘‘ bark” on both edges. Each kind should be accompanied by a few twigs, and pressed loaves and flowers, as well as fruit, if procurable. Dye Woods and Tanning materials, accompanied by a few twigs and leaves, with if possible the flower and fruit of the trees or plant. Mechanical, Architectural, Building contrivances, or Models. Furniture, Cabinet Work, Upholstery, Ac. Leather manufactures, Saddlery, Harness, Boots and Shoes. Specimens and illustrations of Natural History and Physical Science. Photographs, Paintings in Oil and Water Color, Drawings, Etchings, Engravir gs, Maps, Ac. Liqueurs, iErated Water, and other drinks ; Tobacco. Shells suitable for manufacturing purposes. Feathers, Skins, and manufactures from iHair. Mineral products, Iron Sand, Limestone, Build- . ing Stone and Paving Flags, Ac. Maori and other aboriginal implements and manufactures, And every article produced or obtained by human industry, waether of—Raw materials, Machinery, Manufactures, or Fine Arts. Secretary on or before Ist July, 1864, accompanied by a sealed envelope, with the Motto outside and containing the Name and Address of the Designer. Ten Guineas will be given for the best design if deemed worthy of adoption, and it will be the property of the Commissioners. Rejected drawings will be returned to their owners.
