[raESS ASSOCIATION'.} WANCAXLT, Wednesday. The Carnival swimming sports were held in the public baths this afternoon. Heavy rain fell, but the attendance of the public was large. The swimming was of a high standard. J. M. Hamilton won the 220 Yards Championship in 2min 50sec, which boats the previous New Zealand record. He also annexed the 880 Yards Championship in 4min 16sec. Dick Cavill. the world’s champion, took part in the sports. He was in good form, and won the 100 Yards Handicap in 61 l-ssec.
