[OWN OOBBX3FONDINT.] A bazaar, organised by the Ladies’ Guild of the St. Peter’s Church, was opened in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. H. P. Cows, who explained that- the object of the promoters was to augment the vicarage fund and the general funds. The stalls were artistically draped with muslin, and held a choice assortment of articles for ornament, use and adornment. The stalls, which were liberally patronised, were in charge of the following ladies and gentlemen : —Cut blooms, pot plants and ferns (a magnificent display of spring {lowers, bouquets and button-holes), Misses Waldrom and Mrs Wilcox j fancy goods (notably cushions and laae work), Mrs Taylor, assisted by Misses Fox, Pratley and Dugley; plain goods, Mrs W. Rathbone, assisted by Mesdames Nash and H. M. Rathbone; paintings and pictures (including three large panels by Mrs Jas. Bibby), Mr F. H. Taylor; dolls, Mrs H. P. Cows, assisted by Miss Absolum; cakes, Miss Dillon (this stall held a surprise cake, containing coins and other prizes): fancy articles, Mesdames Grcnside (two) and Miss E. Grenside; lollies, Misses 1 Rathbone (two) and McVay; produce (including live and dressed poultry), Mrs Elford. assisted by Miss Sebley and Mr Mullinder; Christmas tree, Misses Muriel Rathbone, F. Baker and Arrow. The subsidiary attractions were nail-driving competitions for ladies and girls, hat-trimming for men, fancy races for boys, a monkey show, and an electric battery, erected by Mr R. W. Noake. Refreshments were sold by Miss Avison, Mrs H. White, Mrs Wilcox and Miss Downfe. The bazaar will be continued! this (Thursday) afternoon and evening..
