UNITED CLUB. The annual meeting of the United Cricket Club is fixed for this evening. SCINDE CLUB. The annual general meeting of the Scinde Cricket Club was held in the Masonic Hotel last night. There was a good muster of members. The balance-sheet showed the club to be in i a good financial position. The report j congratulated the Senior eleven on their ; tie with United for the Cup. The election of officers resulted as follows; Patron, Mr C. H. Edwards; president, Mr T. Tanner; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Martin. T. H. Ringland, A. Stedmau, J. R. Ross, H. Williams, J. Grilfen, R. Thorpe, and Dr Ronald; club captain, Mr Geo. White; hon. secretary, Mr S. White; hon. treasurer, Mr R. Walter; committee, Messrs W. J. Irwin, P. Fulton. M. Grant, J. Drummond, and Geo. Hawke; auditors, Messrs P. Ashcroft- and J. Boyce; delegates to Hawke’s Bay Cricket Association, Messrs S. White and P. Fulton; delegates to Sports’ Protection Association, Mr R. Walter. There were 12 new members elected, also about 25 Wednesday players. Votes of thanks were accorded to last year’s officers, honorary members, Mr W. T. Lydford (scorer), the umpire, and the chairman. Judging hy the enthusiasm displayed at the meeting, the club ought to have a very successful season. WAIPAWA CLUB. The annual meeting of the Waipawa Cricket Club was held on Tuesday evening, when there was a large attendance. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. It was recorded that the club had won the Hunter Shield without a single loss. Votes of thanks were given to Mr S. McGreevy, jun., for the use of a pitch for practice, and to the proprietor of the Empire Oval for its use as a match ground. The following officers were elected • Patron, Mr Paul Hunter:, wwidonty Mr H. C. Mclv'w, nce-presidents, last jeaiM ,c-elected and others added; ground committee, Messrs Came, Eccleton, Wilcox, R. J. Pellow, L. Pratley, Low and Wiseman; selection committee, Messrs Anstis, Came and Eccleton; captain, Mr J. W. Witherow; vice-captain, Mr F. Oliver; hon. treasurer, Mr H. M. Rathbone; hon. secretary, Mr D. F. O’Reilly, who was also appointed delegate to the sub-asso-ciation. The club hope to place two teams in the field this year. Trophies for competition wore given by Messrs Mclvor, Ecclcton, Witherow, Wiseman and H. M. Rathbone.
