PLAT RACES.—The winner of any flat race (after the declaration of weights) carry a penalty of 101b, and of ever; additional race a farther penalty of 61b. Horses handicapped at Set 101b or over to carry only half the above penalties. HURDLE RACES—The winner of any hurdle race (after declaration of weights) to carry a penalty of 101b in the hurdle races, and for every additional race 71b extra.

Owners are responsible for correct penalties being carried. HACK DEFINITION. “Hack” means a horse that has not won at the time of entry a race of the value of 80 sots, or races of the collective value of 200 sovs, since August let, 1399. NOMINATIONS.
