FARMERS’ UNION.

[press association.] ' CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union met to-day. A letter was received from the head office, covering a petition in favour of granting the freehold to Crown tenants, and requesting the executive to distribute the same among branches in this province. The executive considered it inadvisable to adopt this course, and referred the petition back to the head office.
