A smart piece of post-oilice work was done recently in • connection with an English letter. It was sent by the San Francisco mail (which arrived in Auckland on the Monday after Christmas) directed to a little girl in the care of a gentleman friend of hers here. But the post town was omitted from the address, and the only direction given was “New Zealand; 1 The missive went to Dunedin, and yet was back in Wood viile, and delivered to the addressee by the Saturday, in good time for the little girl’s birthday on the Sunday. Entries are beginning to come in pretty freely for the Woodville Central Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s show.
