[own correspondent.] The following officers have been elected by the Hastings* Fire Brigade for the ensuing year: —Branchmen, J. Flyn, J. Henry, R. Catherall, W. Brausch, C. Stubbs, W. Pownali, J. Blade, and James Ebbett. Jas. Donovan was elected foreman of the manual Captain Brausch has been appointed to represent the brigade at the annual United Fire Brigades’ Conference, to be held at Te Aroha, on the 25th instantConstable Pidgeon, who has been stationed in Hastings for over three years, has been transferred. Constable Pidgeon has made many friends during his stay in Hastings, and they wish him every prosperity in his new home. A general quarterly meeting of the Hastings branch of the Farmers’ Union will be held in the Drill Hall on Saturday, 9th instant.
