Christchurch, Monday. At the University Senate, a motion by Sir Maurice O’Rotke suggesting that the Government should grant £2SCO to each of the affiliated colleges for the purpose of erecting dormitories and dining halls, was carried unanimously. A motion by the Rev. Mr Cameron asking the heads of secondary schools whether the university regulations were satisfactory, and if not in what direction they should be amended, was also adopted. The report of the law Committse recommended the examiners not to correspond with candidatss. The committee could not recommend that requests for concessions from candidates should ts granted. The farther report of the Law Committee giving details of the passes in the lats law examinations (already published), was adopted. The Senate elected Bishop Nevill, of Dunedin, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of the Hon. W. Bolleston,
