ORMONDVILLE.

A concert was given in the Foresteu’ Hal), Makotnku, cn Wednesday evening in aid of the Wesleyan Church Building Fund. The Kev. J. Oliver presided, and there was a large attendance. The programme included a pianoforte solo by Miss Annie Grant; vocal duet, Misses Haley and Carmichael; cornet solo, Mr Gamman; recitations, Miss O'Brien and Mr W. H Johneton; and eonga by Misses Ormond, O’Brien, Mildon, and Carmichael, and Messrs Hyam, E. Collinge, H. W. Collins, Forbes, and Wright. All the items were well rendered and mot with hearty applause, in most instances an encore being demanded. At the conclusion of the entertainment the chairman thanked the performers for their assistance, and also the audience for their attendance. At the ordinary weekly parade of the Union Bifles, hold on Thursday evening in the Ormondvillo Town Hall, Lieutenant Cnrd pat the company through some very useful instruction in aiming, after which squads were formed, which the aon-oommissioned officers instructed in rifle exercise and bayonet fighting. After the umal weekly parade on Thursday rent the parade night will be altered to Wednesday for the future. The following teams have been selected to compete in the Coleman Shield match:—Capi ain Forbes. Sergeant Husssy, Lance-Corporals Groom and Lorrigan, and Privates O. K. Olsen, H. Olsen, J. J. Tnohy, J. J. West, W. West, G. West, E. Headman, and Jackson. Emergencies: LanceCorporal Bush and Private Lawrence. Markets: Private Leopoldt and Bugler Lucas. Great and elaborate preparation! are being made by the ladies of Ormondvillo in anticipation of a monster baziar that is to be bald in the Town Hall on Wednesday to raise funds for painting the Church of the Epiphany and the vicarage. The members of the Ladies’ Committee and their friends have been hard at work foAsome time past preparing for this very worthy cause, with the remit that all sorts of beautiful articles, from an oil painting to a baby’s bootee, to say nothing of relics from the seat of war in South Africa, will be for sale on the eventful day. The usual bran pie, &c, will be there also for the amusement of the youngsters, and a concert is to beheld in the evening, for whioh a first-rate programme has been prepared.— Own COBBESPOKDEKT.
