The attendance at the funeral of the late Mr E. Bibby was very great, and included everyone of note in the surrounding towns. The cortege was preceded by then Yen. Archdeacon S. Williams, and the Eevs. W. Swinbnra, J. C. Eoolea, and A. P. Gardener. ‘Behind them came the coffin, borne by two sons of Mr J. Buchanan from Blackburn, and Messrs H. C. Collett and Lowe, followed by the four sons and two sons-in-law of deceased, and about 360 persons followed them. Included were the Bevs, 0. Dean F. W. Martin, T, Macdonald, the Hon. W. C. Smith, nearly all the Justices in the neighborhood, Messrs Williams and M'Qnery, chairmen of the Town and Bead Boards, several country representatives, and gentlemen of note in the two counties. Arrived at the grave Archdeacon Williams and the other clergy took their place at the head, and behind them the church choir. The hymn "On the Besurreotion Mom ” was sung, then the rev. gentlemen gave the several portions of the beautiful ritual of the Church of England. The hymn “Just as I am ” followed, and then the Venerable Archdeacon gave a powerful and impressive address, applying it specially to the deceased, " Jesus, Lover of My Soul,” by the choir foUowed, and the benediction closed the ceremony. Difficult as it is to get any flowers, owing to the excessive drought, yet there were a large number of valuable wreaths, contributed by persons anxious to pay a last tribute of respect.
