THE VICTORIAN GOVERNOR.

ABBTVAL AT MELBOURNE, Bsoetved December 11,12.58 >.m. Melbourne, Tuesday. The new Governor, Sir George Sydenham Clarke, and Lady Clarke, arrived by the Victoria. They were escorted up the bay. A torpedo boat met and welcomed the Government steamer. The Parliamentary party aboard landed at St. Hilda. Subsequently an imposing military procession escorted the party to the Exhibition Building, where the new Governor was sworn in in the presence of a large and brilliant gathering. The route was gaily decorated, and great crowds attended.
