The German Press ate dissatisfied with the speech delivered by tbe Kaiser at a banquet to the officers of tbe Prussian regiment named after Emperor Alexander of Russia, in which he declared that the * regiment would crush with their bayonets ‘ toy attempt at insubordination in Berlin. Paris, March SI. The strike of the Marseilles dock laborers is ended. The chief agitator has been eentenced to three months' imprisonment. New York, March 31. Columbia has offered America absolute control of the Panama Canal with a lease of the adjacent territory for an unlimited period. Stdnet, Monday. The Siena made the passage from Auckland in 3 days 3 hours 37 minutes. The ship Hawaiian Isles, which was believed to have been lost in the recent storm, has arrived safely at Newcastle. She encountered a violent hurricane 35 miles west of Wilson’s Promontory. There were no indications of the approach of the tempest, which was the most violent and sudden ever felt on the Australian coast. The vessel had a whole suit of tails blown away. A tidal wave or waterspout 60 feet high was observed, but the vessel got clear of its effects. Melbourne, Monday. More wreckage marked with the name Federal has been picked up at Wollacoota. The wife of the steamer’s cook baa identified a lifebelt belonging to bet husband.
