TRAINING NOTES.

[Bt "Tout."] Hastinos, Thursday. Another very sharp and cold morning saw a good number of sports out to watoh the morning's work. As usual there were a few ladies. The tracks were in good order, and some of the work very interesting. Coin and Scallywag arrived last night, and were out this morning doing slow work. The first to go were Mystify and Tugela. They put in a couple of oirouits, the first at half-pace and the next at top. The first-named, who is galloping well, Beemed to have the best of the gallop. Tataramoa and Blackberry did a couple of oirouits at a good strong three-quarter pace. They are both moving freely and going well. Nobility and Tire" did long slow work, whilst Coin did the same. Carnival and Moifa were sent together over a oouple of oirouits at a strong half and three-quarter pace. Lotion did long slow work.

Bonnie d'Eau and Cora Linn put up the gallop of the morning. They galloped , If mile, The Pony picking them up the , last six furlongs. They were a Tery good , matoh, and little separated them at the , finish. Scallywag did long slow work ; Kauri Gnm did the same. Chance (T. Connop) jnmped the country ■ in fine style a couple of circuits. This ; horse is a beautiful fencer. Challenger was given a conple of oirouits at a strong half-pace. Apremete and Mercury jumped ! the country in taking fashion, and pleased the on-lookers. They are both good jumpers. The Weaver, Sirocco, and Donovan galloped one oironit, and were pioked up by Defoe at the five furlong post, the last named colt finishing in front, with The Weaver next. Donovan was beaten off. The Weaver put up a fine gallop. Blank and Waihau galloped one circuit; the first-named finishing in front. Boiler and Morag jnmped the country a oouple of times round. They both got over splendidly, and finished at the last fence together.. Bumahunga put in a couple of rounds at half pace. Pnketoi and Gryphon did similar work. Woodlander, Cceur de Lion and Haloyon then jumped the sohooling hurdles together. They galloped and jumped very well, finishing over the last hurdle together.
