Hauroto iB expected this forenoon from Southern ports, and leaves for Northern ports and Sydney at 5 p.m. The Tyser Company's s.s. Hawke's Bay is due to-morrow from London via Australian and Northern ports. The s.a. Tangaroa returned from Wairoa on Wednesday night, and yesterday was busy discharging aud again loading cargo for Wairoa. She was to leave for there last midnight. The s s. Fanny has postponed her coast trip until finished with the s.s. Hawke's Bay, due to-morrow. s The s.s. Weka arrived back from Gisborne yesterday forenoon. The North German Lloyd line have oontraoted with the Vulcan Shipbuilding Company, of Stettin, to build a vessel 726 ft long, and of 10,000-horse power or more. She will develop at least 24 knots an hour speed, and that means that she will oover the route from Queenstown to •Sandy Hook— about 2780 knots— in 4 days 20 hours and a fraction.
