SEVERE ENGAGEMENT.
MANY CASUALTIES. Ktcoived Juno 13, P. 5 a.m. London, June 12. Colonel Carter had a Bevere engagement with a force of Ashantis entrenched at Dompoasse, 30 miles south of Kuinassi. There were 97 casualties in Colonel Carter's force, inclnding seven European officers wounded. Colonel Carter returned to Kwissa, near the boundary, on June Bth, and is awaiting the arrival of reinforcements.
