LETTER FROM TnE QUEEN. [by telegraph.] Auckland, Monday. Owing to Lady Constance Knox having contracted a severe cold the Governor has postponed his departure to Wellington until Wednesday, when his Exoellency must m any case leave, owing to offlcinl business. His Excellency having written Home regarding New Zealand affairs, has just received a letter from Sir A. Bigge, the Queen's Private Seoretary, stating that the Queen was most interested in hearing of New Zealand affairs. and was greatly pleased with the account of the wonderful manner in which the application for a further contingent of 500 men was responded to.
