UNSHAVEN BANDSMEN.
Eeceived November 10, 1.30 n,in. Sydney, Thursday. At the Bathurst band contests the Marching Competition, in which there were nine competitors, was won by Code'B Melbourne band, with 136 points. The Wellington Garrison Band was fifth, with 128 points. The New Zealanders marched well, and also tied with Code's on points for music, but lost points on the ground of nine of the bandsmen being nnshavod. The first-class championship contest, in which the New Zealanders are engaged, will be concluded to-night. So far Hillgrove has a long lead.
