HOCKEY.

The following representative team has been picked by the selectors, Messrs Jourdain, Dixon, and Clayton to play for Hawke's Bay against Wellington at the Athletic Park, Wellington, on Wednesday, 13th September: — Goal, G. Fryer (Rifles); backs, H. A. Deighton (Danevirke) and L. Bowen (Hinemoa A) ; halves, B. Balharry (Napier A), C. J. Smith (Napier A), and H. W. Frost (United A) ; forwards, A. Balfour (United A), 0. Weight (Danovirke), C. R. Sainsbury (United A), J. R. Keaaell (Hastingß), and A. Hyde (Hastings). The Napier members of the team will meet for practice at Clive-square at 7 o'clock every j morning. j The following matches will be played i on the Recreation Ground thia afternoon : — At 2.15 p.m. Napier B. v. Napier Rifles (Mr Scott, reforee), and at 2.15 p.m. Napier A v. United B (Mr Johnston, referee). All members of the teams can get a game if they turn up at the ground, and punctuality is particularly requested in order that, if possible, a scratch game may be played in addition, when the members of the representative team for Wellington can take part. Next Wednesday afternoon a special match will be played between teams representing the Wednesday and Saturday clubs, the game to commence at 3.30. The following is tho Wednesday selection : — L. Bowen, J. F. Ludwig (Hinemoa A), J. R. Kessell (Hastings), W. Clayton, M'Goldrick, D. Dreaver, Falvey, H. Pirie (Hinemoa B), Fenton, Hested (Citizens) ; emergencies, Carter (Hinemoa A), Carrad, aud Ferguson (Citizens).
