Catherine Devine, a Sydney artist, committed suicide at Hanley, in Staffordshire. At the inquest a verdict of " Temporary insanity " was returned. James Wray, the Australian sculler, has challenged W. Hainos, the Englishman, to row for .£IOO aside. Sydney, Tuesday,A man arrested at Windsor on a charge of a criminal assault on a girl, poisoned himself in tho lock-up. Melbourne, Tuesday. Sir Andrew Clarke has been appointed Agent-General in London for three years. Of late the public have shown little disposition to take up credit foncier bonds, and the Savings Bank has subscribed the whole of the latest issue.
