ANNIVERSARY DAY AT WANGANUI.
Wanoanpi, Monday. There was beautiful weather for the holiday, the principal atfcpaGtion being the Caledonian sports, which were largely attended and highly successful. It was the biggest gathering of pipers ever seen here, no lobs than 16 being on the ground. The points prize fop Highland musjp was taken by Piper Cameron, and the dancing by Forbes, whilst most points in tossing the caber, putting the hammer, and throwing the stone were taken by M'Dowell, Palmerston North, A river excursion, and one to the seaside also attracted a large crowd.
