TThe Union Company's s.s. Janet Nicol arrived from Oamaru and Dunedin yes terday morning', and was berthed at th breastwork. She reports having experi Sliced very rough weather on the way nj the coast, but was fortunate in bringinj her cargo of sheep safely to port. Havinj landed her ah'eep and general cargo shi left for W.estport at 2.30 p.m. Tha Union Company's s.s. Omapere ii due from the North to-morrow. In addi tion to her regular cargo from Aucklanc shebringß 400 bales wool for tranship ment to the Star of Victoria on Monday and after discharge proceeds to Welling ton. Her Majesty's ships Tauranga ant Koyalist. arrived in the bay yesterday from the North, and anchored off thi breakwater. They are expected to remaii here till ' Monday next. The sis. Te Kapu left yesterday foi Wairoa.. _ The Tyser ship Brambletye was taker in tow yesterday afternoon by the s.s Ahuriri, and when well clear of the lane set sail for London. A summary of hei cargo appeared in Thursday's Herald. The Newcastle correspondent of th< Daily Commercial News, Sydney, sayf that owing' to the scarcity of tonnage there is a falling-off in shipments to New Zealand, the majority of the sailing vessels being on the coast here or on tht way to ■ Australia timber-laden, He quotes the following freights for New Zealand ports :— Auckland 8s 6d, Wellington 9s, Bluff 9a 3d, Napier 12s, Gis borne 16s, Wanganui 16s, Timaru 15s Dnnedin 10s Pictbn 10s, New Plymoutl 15s, and Nelson 10s.
