The Newcastle correspondent of th< Daily Commercial News, Sydney, sayf that owing' to the scarcity of tonnage there is a falling-off in shipments to New Zealand, the majority of the sailing vessels being on the coast here or on tht way to ■ Australia timber-laden, He quotes the following freights for New Zealand ports :— Auckland 8s 6d, Wellington 9s, Bluff 9a 3d, Napier 12s, Gis borne 16s, Wanganui 16s, Timaru 15s Dnnedin 10s Pictbn 10s, New Plymoutl 15s, and Nelson 10s.
