HAWKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB.
A committee meetintr of the Hawke'i Bay Jockey Club was held yesterday a the Criterion Hotel. Present — Captaii llussell (chairman), Hon. J. 1). Orinond and Messrs L. de Pelichet, F. Logan, G P. Donnelly, and J. H. Coloman. Tho Waipawa County Racing Clvi wrote asking for ruling in the matter o paying the stakes in the Maiden Race a their late meeting, A. Kaynor, th owner of the second horse, having pre tested against the stakes being paid t The Frenchman, the disqualification o that horse having been endorsed by th Auckland Metropolitan Club. It was re solved, " That the Waipawa Club, fron the evidenoe they have submitted, ap pear to have sufficient information t ewvble them to arrive at a decision in th case." Mr W. G. Pagendopff wrote statin, that dividends that had been refused hit at the Ashurst meeting had since bee: paid to him with an apology, and tha he wished to make a donation to th jockeys' provident fund of the /mount o .£l2, and enclosed a cheque for/ that sun A vote of thanks was. accorded to M Pagenbopff for his generous donation. The application of the Rev. John Hobii for the «se of the grounds for the annul Sunday-school picnic was granted. Several applications for the removal c disqualifications for running at unregii tered meetings were received and deal : with. The programme for the Bissingto hack race meeting on the 11th Februar ' was approved. The Hon. J. D. Ormond and Captai : Russell were appointed to attend th Conference to be held in Wellington o the 21st instant. The interim report of the summt meeting, showing a satisfactory resul was laid on the table. It was resolved that an extra race eac day be added to the autumn programm — on the first day Epsom Handicap, of 4 [ soys, minimum weight lOst, gentleme riders, 11 mile ; and on the second de Scurry Handicap, of 40 boys, 5 furlongs. . It was decided to have a single stoi diamond bracelet for the Ladies' Bracele to be run on the first day at the Jut meeting, and a pearl pendant necklace 1 be run for on the second day at the sam [ meeting, both articles to be ordered froi ' the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths' Con ' pany, London. The following licenses were granted :- Jockeys, Alfred Richards, George Ma thews, Taniati Wehikore, P. D.
