BURGESS COMPLAINS OF THE POLICE. A DANGEROUS LUNATIC AT LARGE. Received January 17, 10.43 p.m. Bkisbane, Tuesday. Burgess complains the police are endeavoring by unfair means to weave a web of the most incriminating evidence round him, his clothes being chemically examined, and the boots he used inspected to see if they correspond with the tracks found in the vicinity of the murder. . The Gratton people are being kept in a simmer of excitement. The latest sensation is a lunatic roaming at large through the district with a knife seeking to kill somebody.
