INQUESTS.
[Bt TELEeBAPH,] Christchurch, Monday; At the inquest on Christina Johnuock, who died suddenly at Opawa last week, and the inquest on whom was adjourned to allow an analysis of the stomach to be made, the coroner said enough strychnine was found in the body to poison half a dozen people. The verdict was returned that the woman died from the effects of poison administered by her own hand while temporarily insane. The police have unearthed at Opawa the body, of a baby which has evidently been dead about six weeks. An inquest was held, at which the coroner 'intimated that the infant had belonged to a certain young woman, and pending further inquiries an adjournment was necessary without taking evidence.
