Tho downpour caused a flood i tho Water of Loith, but no serioi dainago was done. In Iho nortli-oa: Valloy there was about a foot of water c d tho main road, and many gardons ar> sovoral houses had some inches of wati in them, which was disheartening : householders were getting thoir places order after tho recent hailstorm. Tl railways have so far not been affocle Tho Taieri river is not in flood yet, b> tho Silverstream overflowed, and it feared caused serious damage to tl crops on tho plain near filosgiol ai towards north-west Taieri.
