CRIMINAL STATISTICS.
Dunediu, Thursday,. The criminal statistics for the Dunpdin district for 1898 show that tjiere was a decrease of 98 men and 77 women charged with offences as compared with 1897, The chief decreases were drunkenness 74, thefts 28, vagrancy ?8, pbsftene language 38, against prohibited persons }8; more maintenance cases, and an increase pf 21 cases committed for trial.
