CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS.
Monday, 26th inst. and 2nd proi. (for Christmas Day and New Year'B Day£ will be observed as close holidays at all post-offices. On 27th inst. (for Boxing Day) offices will bo opon to the public in all branches for ono hour only (0 to 10 a.m.) One delivery by lottor carriord will bo inod6 commencing at 8 a.m., and the usual deap.itch of mails up to 10 a.m. only will bo made. On the evenings of Saturday, 24th and 31st iuot., a delivory of lotters will be made over tho counter at the chief postofflco, commencing at 8 o'clock. Commencing 23th November, a mail is despatched from London via Naples containing all correspondence for Now Zealand, whether specially addressed or not, posted dnring tho week after the departure of the San Francisco n»il from London.
