Heraid Office, Tuesday evening. - , Williams and Kettle, Limited, report holding their periodical sale of live stock at their Empire yards, Waipawa, to-day, ■when there was a good attendance of graziers and others. The yards were fairly well filled with first-olass shorthorn cattle, which met with ready sale under the hammer at prices a shade higher than Bix weeks ago. The quality cf the cattle, however, was a great factor towards this end. We realised the following prices : — Yearling steers from 308 to 435 ; 2-year steers up to 61s j 3-year-old bullocks, low in . condition, £3 8s 6d j yearling heifers up to 255 ; 2-year heifers, inferior quality, 30s ; cows from 20s to 40. Draught gelding, unbroken, from .£2O to 422 j light express sorts, £15; unbroken hacks, £1 10s up to 413 10a for one handsome mare by Jet d'Eau. Our next sale will be held in January, when we expect a full yarding of cattle.
