THE WRECKAGE AT LAKE TAKAPUNA.

A few daya ago it was stated that a board about five feet long, bearing the name "Auriga," also half-a-dozen pieces of stern scroll-work, had been picked up on Milford beach, near Lake Takapuna. It is now explained that Captain Hoigh, of the Auriga, in a recent letter intimated that he intended to remove the stern scroll-work on the vessel, as it prevented the proper cleaning of the iron underneath. It is possible, therefore, that he did so, and at the same time removed the board with the name on it to clean the iron, and a strong breeze may have come Oil and caused the soroll-work and nameboard to be washed away.
