He attempted to lead a . crowd to Colonel Picquart's prison, but 1 the police prevented and dispersed the i mob amidst cheering for General Zur--1 linden (Military Governor of Paris) and the army. i Pa3chal Groussst, Socialist deputy of 1 the Seine, in the Chamber of Deputies , accused the General Ariny|Staff of indis- ! cretions. The statement provoked an uproar. Several Socialist deputies were assaulted. | M. de Freycinet, Minister of War, re- , buked M, Grousset'a intolerable insinua- ■ tion. The matter ended by the order of the day being adopted by a large majority.
