Phobablks v. Possibles. la view of the tnatoh with the Poverty Bay representatives a trial game was played on the Recreation Ground last Saturday. Tbe Probables won by 8 points to 4, bat they bad rauou tbe worst of the game. They were beaten in the forward division, and the play oi their halves was frustrated by the good work of their opposing forwards. Xhe Possibles hod oil the best of tbe play until towaidi tbe finish, wben they appeared to have exhangtedall their energies, whloh allowed a few of the Probables who were in oondltlon to take advantage of any weakness displayed by their opponents. The form shown was nob wbab should be expeoted of representative teams. Xhe scrams were badly paoked, and some of the passing was veiy reoklesH. Nob half enough passing was indulged Id, Simp, •on potted a goal from bho field for the Poailbles, and Caldwell and Kelly eaoh got a try for the Probables, one of which Bear converted.
