At the Magistrate's Court this morning two children, aged three and two years, were brought upas destitute, their parents being In indigent circnrastaßces and unable to support them. The police stated that the father, who was a bricklayer, wqb an out-patient of the Wellington hospital from the effects of an accident). The mother was in domestic service at Tim »ni. The children bad been taken cbarge of by a Chrlstchurch woman, bat the payments for maintenance being greatly In arrears she had asked that they should be oeot to Bnrnhain. Counsel for the Charitable Aid Board ssld that the father Imd commenced an action to recover £100 darnogeß. Tho mother was earning 12s 6J par week and board. The Board were prepared to send the children to the father, and if he were unable to supporn them he aoald apply to the Wellington Board to assist him until bis clicnmstunces improved. They deollned to relieve the parents of their responsibility, an the mother was earning quite sufficient to oarry ont her contracc wibh the woman who took charge of them.
