M'Greovy.— Ciroulara were received from the Melbonrne Glaes Bottle Company and tha Acetylene Gas Company relative to Illuminations. Received.— The overseer reported on tho works done during the month.— Mr Rathbone objeoted to the big drain bolug extended through his property. Messrs M'Greevy and Bennett to Interview Mr Hatbbnne and endeavor to arrange for entering hla land for an outfall, oad if not successful to obbain ft solicitor's advice cs to the mode of procedure.— Permission, woa given to Mr Coles to erect a scaffold ou the footpath In front of a shop ia ooura9 of erection.— Mr Symona askad leave to connect with tbe drain In tho main fltreot. Mr M'Greevy then moved that a lamp be erected at the corner of Phllllpi's seotlon, top of Waverley outtlng, wbioh was snoonded by the chairman. Mr Jnll objeoted that it was not neoessary, and the nightjwatohman had already enonch to attend to. Mr M'Greevy only wanted the lamp to bB lit on Sunday nights. Motion lout—Tenders were opened for clearing ont big drain as follows :— P Frendergast 9i 6d per chain, L. Dftvey 7', G. S. Lowe 6s, A. Bright, well 6j. For catting extension ; F. Herman 13s 6d, Lowe 9i, Brlghtwell 11s. 11l was decided that if Lowe and Brlghtwell chose to amalgamate they should have the contract, otherwise they were to draw lots. — The chairman and Mr Abrahams were authorised to sign the rate book.— The pay shear, £46 Oa lid, was pasned for payment.— Permleolon wss given to the commemoration committee to have tho use of the streets on Accession Day.— Mr Jail moved that permission be elven to plans a few suitable trees in Wnverleyetreet in commemoration of the Qietm's Record Reign. Mr M'Greevy seconded tbe motion, althonph ho was oppoied to planting on streets, bnt on this occa< alon he would not raise any objection. The Domain Board met later, Mr Bennett presiding. The balance in band was £86 lla 61 Tenders were reoeivad for the use of the domain. J. Stone £8, A. E. Joneo £12 123. The latter was acaepted, Tho Waipawa Road Board ought to have met this afternoon, but It was postponed in order that the members oonld attend the funeral of the late Mr A. H. Jocen, at Walpnkurau. A large number of Waipawa people left for the same reason. A movement is oa foot for planting 60 trees In Waverley-Btreet, wbioh will be mooted at the meeting on Tuesday evening.
